In the peaceful Warwickshire countryside, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of main roads, lies a hidden gem for motoring enthusiasts: Henry’s Car Barn. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill car storage facility—far from it. Founded by Henry Warhurst, the Barn has evolved from a family-run storage business into a premier hub for car lovers. It offers not only top-end storage for collector cars but also a beautifully restored clubhouse designed for social gatherings, events, and more. But how did it all come to be? Let’s meet the visionary behind it all, Henry Warhurst.
Henry’s love for cars runs deep. His passion was ignited growing up around his father’s automotive storage business, which was established more than 35 years ago. Situated on the family farm, this business catered to car collectors, offering state-of-the-art, climate-controlled storage for hundreds of cars. However, Henry had a vision to take it even further. “I wanted to make it a proper automotive hub, to have everything down one drive,” Henry explains. And that’s exactly what he’s done.
When all the modern barns on the farm were repurposed for car storage and other related businesses, Henry turned his attention to a centuries-old hay barn dating back to the mid-1700s. It was the last part of the farm that hadn’t been utilised for motoring purposes. Against the advice of friends and family, he emptied the barn of decades’ worth of farming equipment and set about transforming it into something extraordinary. The result? A luxury clubhouse, now a haven for like-minded car enthusiasts.
The newly converted Clubhouse is a perfect blend of rustic charm and motoring culture. It features a dining area, kitchen, bar, car display space, and even a mezzanine complete with a high-end driving simulator. Outside, there’s an inviting area for entertaining, perfect for VIP events, car reveals, and private gatherings. “I wanted it to be a place where car people could not only store their cars but also enjoy them,” says Henry.
What sets Henry’s Car Barn apart is the level of detail and thought that has gone into making it a full-fledged car lover’s dream. In addition to the clubhouse, Henry’s site offers a variety of services for collectors. From Pennant Classics, a workshop specialising in the preparation of historic race cars, to a bespoke car detailing service, everything a car owner could need is available on-site. The first storage barn accommodates 145 cars in a dehumidified, climate-controlled environment, while a second, non-dehumidified barn provides space for over 400 cars, with plans for further expansion.
But it’s not just the facilities that make Henry’s Car Barn special—it’s the passion behind it. Henry is a motoring enthusiast to the core. He doesn’t just store cars; he drives, races, and restores them. One of his prized possessions is a stunning 1961 E-Type Jaguar, a car as capable on the racetrack as it is elegant parked in front of the clubhouse. “It’s a formidable car,” Henry remarks, noting the meticulous restoration it underwent under the guidance of former Jaguar test driver Richard Cresswell. With its striking Opalescent Silver Blue paint and 320bhp under the bonnet, it’s an example of Henry’s philosophy: cars should be enjoyed, whether they’re on the track or on display.
For Henry, building this space was about more than just creating a business—it was about creating a community. “If you know, you know,” Henry often says, and it’s true. Henry’s Car Barn may not shout from the rooftops, but for those who discover it, it’s a motoring enthusiast’s paradise. Whether you're attending a cars and coffee meet, storing a prized vehicle, or simply enjoying the company of fellow enthusiasts in the cosy clubhouse, Henry’s vision has truly come to life.
As Henry looks to the future, there are more developments planned—additional barns, new services, and more ways to engage the motoring community. But for now, this quiet automotive oasis stands as a testament to one man’s passion and vision. If you’re ever lucky enough to visit, you’ll quickly see why Henry’s Car Barn is more than just a place to park a car—it’s a destination for those who truly love them.
